CYCLING IN BEAUTIFUL PLACES

The Cévennes

Immortalised in Tim Krabbé's 70s classic cycling book The Rider, which describes a rider's attempt to win the fictional Tour du Mont Aigoual, and also a regular venue for stages of the Tour de France, La Vie en Vélo has good contacts in the beautiful but little known mountainous region of the Cévennes in the Massif Central.

Based in the beautiful town of Mende, there is riding to 1700m within 70km of the Mediterranean. This is one of France's least populated regions but has fantastic riding in a wonderful landscape of high mountains, dense forests and steep valleys.

If you'd like to get off the beaten path and visit a real hidden gem, then you're likely to appreciate the landscape and culture of the Cévennes.

If you're interested in a custom trip to the area then have a look at my prices page.
